UIL Announces New Districts
The Bobcats and Lady Cats found out who they will play next year with the University Interscholastic League’s releasing the 2026-28 districts.
While Childress will stay in 3A Division II District 1, the football district did have a change. The River Road Wildcats replace Tulia, who dropped down to 2A. Canadian, Childress, Dimmitt and Friona all remain in the District.
River Road ended the 2025 football season 1-10 with its only win against Tulia. The Wildcats have not had a winning season since 2021.
“Our district is what I expected,” Childress High School (CHS) Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Bo Helm said. “Some surprises in the region, but there always are.”
The volleyball district did not change for the Lady Cats. It still consists of Idalou, Littlefield, Shallowater and Tulia.
The basketball district did not change for the Bobcats and Lady Cats as well. It still consists of Bushland, Canadian, Dalhart, Amarillo River Road and Tulia.
