PAMPA – The Childress Bobcats are Bi-District Champs after beating the River Road Wildcats 51-28 on Monday, Feb. 19 at Pampa High School.
“Winning any playoff game is special,” CHS Head Basketball Coach Wayne Parker said. “It’s hard to win playoff games.”
The Cats will play Littlefield at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 at Floydada High School in the Area playoff game.
“Littlefield is a good team that can score a lot of points,” Parker said. “We’ll have to play well.”
But this is nothing new. Parker said they’ve played a tough schedule all year.
“Our non-district schedule was brutal,” he said. “Our district is one of the toughest in the state. Our district went 3-1 in the first round.”
The Bobcats moved to 25-8 with the Bi-District win. Parker said the Cats are taking it one day at a time just like any other game, trying to have intense practices, competing and getting after it.
“I’m proud of the boys for working hard every day and bringing the intensity each day to practice,” he said. “It translates into hard work in the games.”
