Childress Helping Hands encourages people to donate to The Panhandle Gives
CHILDRESS – The Panhandle Gives is underway, and people can help Childress Helping Hands by donating.
“We would appreciate any and all donations,” Childress Helping Hands President Kacy Crouch said. “All of your donation goes to Childress Helping Hands.”
The Amarillo Area Foundation hosts The Panhandle Gives, an annual event that raises money for Panhandle non-profits. For those who would like to donate, Crouch gave step by step directions to make it easier.

People can donate through Tuesday, Nov. 29. “No amount is too small,” Crouch said. “ By donating you are supporting your neighbors and keeping your money local.”
For those who aren’t familiar with Childress Helping Hands, this non-profit provides emergency financial aid for those who are financially struggling, sick or elderly in Childress County, Crouch explained.
The non-profit has provided $10,271 in rent, utilities, clothing and food to 27 Childress County families since March 15, 2022. Crouch said the non-profit partners with the New4U Thrift Store and the Food4U Food Pantry to help with food and clothing needs.
It is staffed with volunteers and is governed a Board of Directors, Crouch added.
Board members consist of Crouch, Shelly Preston, Stephanie Castor, Tesa Nix, Allison Taylor, Reynalda Juarez, Phillip Rhodes, Annabel Jurado, Polo Lizama, Vanessa Arnn, Raymond McGee and Susan Leary.
